Ears to Hear

Trees twinkling, music softly plays, knocks on the door, our daughter has invited some friends over for a Christmas game time. Voices lifted, laughter soars, as they sit on the floor munching on a variety of delicious snacks contributed by all. The gathering is simple and yet sweet. .

Football is on and dad wants to sit and watch the game. Instead he puts on some gloves and ventures out in the cold with strands of lights towed. Oh, how beautiful our house looks as night draws near. Rebecca our 10 year old makes a cup of hot cocoa and warmly offers her daddy her treat. He thinks she is very sweet.

A precious friend ventures in and one can see the heaviness she bears. We pull up a chair and listen with care. We speak of God's promises and the truth of how difficult life circumstances can be. Were reminded that pearls are produced by the rough sand over a long period of time. Did you know that "diamond stability zones" are delivered to Earth's surface during deep-source volcanic eruptions. This should speak to our hearts that some of most difficult trials of this life have the potential to produce some of the most beautiful lasting treasures.

The party is ending and it's time for friends to depart but before my friend goes we bow and pray. The anxieties of the day we lay at the throne of Him who is thee only way.

Thank you Heavenly Father for hearing our prayers and for giving us ears to hear. We know you are present. Your word says in 1 Corinthians 2:9 "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" You are soverignly in control.

Isaiah 64:4 Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
