Saturday morning, we are drawn to those in mourning. Ninety people, young and old, were gathered together to bring Christmas cheer to those who had lost someone dear. Many suffer at this time of year and they need someone who will lend a listening ear.
Our family went to four places. The first door opens and we see grief of their faces. Invited in, how long has it been since you lost your kin. Memories of their mother, wife, wondering now how to go on with their life. The holidays cut like a knife.
Each person we met was facing various trials; financial, physical, emotional, one thing we could offer was a prayer to the one whom they could cast all their cares. Humbly we went before His throne and in that moment they knew they were not alone.
Tears flowed from our eyes as we said goodbye.
